It's our last update of 1999! Time to pull out your copy of Strange Days, the CyberPunk Movie of the Millenium Party! Hope these little tid-bits hold you through until the big 2K.
BlackHammer Project - I was conversing in one of the discussion groups where several people had difficulties finding the official eratta for CP2020 1st ed, Chrome Book 1 and Solo of Fortune and the Official New Armor/Combat Notes, so I have mirrored them off the PUNK page to help keep the players and GMs informed. Added a bit of flavour text to the PanzerCop entry on that page as well. New to the HACK page is an article on Programming Languages and another on purchasing software on the black market. In the land of gear (but burried on the KILL page, we finally have our long-awaited article on helmets and head armour, Head's Up!. From the UK CyberPunk ThinkTank, we have FID Thoughts on MonoWire and the last installment of the FID Weapon System - Flipper Is Dead: Shotgun Creation System. From Luciferin, we have his Alternate rules for bullet damage. As an experiment, I've tried introducing a new firearm format, Adobe Acrobat PDFs of the H&K BMP10 SMG and Colt AMT 1150 with full stats, pics and description, on the Firearms Archive - I'd like to hear from you as to whether you prefer this format or my regular HTML format for firearms. And New from Dom Fada are antoher two excellent characters in the Body Bank.
POLYMER HEAVEN brings us news on their latest service, Injection Molded Mindless Garbage as well as a slight cleaning up of the front page of the site.

So, go ahead, wish me a happy birthday. As of now I am at the very upper end of the CyberPunk lifepath system, a decrepid, "crusty" 28 years old. I've changed the news format to include a section for each CyberPunk site I maintain, and Denise has chopped the newsfile itself into two files, one for 1999 updates and one for previous updates.
BlackHammer Project - A small selection of game ideas based on music, it's the Musical Game Seeds. I've always been terrified of the EMP grenades in game play, so I whipped up some less potent EMP grenades (still GM treats, not for player consumption). From Richard Harris we have some rules and ideas on Smartguns and Optical Sights. A kind gentleman has reformatted my Martial Arts Table to make it far prettier and easier to use. The Flipper Is Dead page has had several new items added to it this month, the CyberArmour, CyberWeapons, CyberOptics and Cosmetics additions to the massive FID CyberWare Listing. The Ronin Revisited page has a new Militech Ronin conversion, the "TommyGun 2020" edition. Fixed (once again) the link to the CyberPunk Mailing List. New for the Body Bank is another submitted character from Dom Fada, Johnny Cargo. Two new firearms made it into the Firearms Archive, both were originally just stats from games I ran ages ago, now illustrated! (The Sternmeyer Type88a, and the Heckler & Koch USP12). The pistols section of the firearms archive has seen a major facelift to make the look generally the same as the look of the Shadowrun Conversions. Over the next few months, the other firearms archive pages will receive a similar facelift (as I slowly re-do all the firearms graphics from one style to the other).
A note from The Houndwife 101: I've been tidying up around the site and surfing links, and would just like to remind people that this is the BlackHAMMER site, not BlackHAND. Okay?
CSWAT:2020 has had a few new graphics slip into some of the older files to reduce the stark look of the site a bit, in the Field Specialties and Career Skills sections.
SOF:2020 is a new site detailing a variant of the CyberPunk RPG where players play as Mercenaries. New files include Basic Game Ideas, Primary Stats for character creation (modifications on the 9 basic Interlock stats), Secondary Stats including rules for determining height, weight, handedness, and voice, Rules for Command, Control & Stress, aspects of the game much more important to small unit skirmishing games than they are in CP2020, as well as Links, Contact Info and a guestbook for the site.
POLYMER HEAVEN has a new logo and motto - "When things get drastic, Go for the plastic!" (with thanks to Cypress Hill - Glock Automatic - Synthetic - Materials)

  • October 1999 - From the depths of Borneo, we bring you Biotech Malaysia, a minor player in the international Biotech field. For the Rifles page I've added the M249 Booster Gang Edition (players beware!) and a submitted pistol to the HandGuns list. Also in the world of guns, an article on those ancient classic toys of the 1980's and 90's, Old Guns Never Die, Honest, being an extension on that section of the CP2020 rules. From Rich we have some great new ideas on portable EMP toys and shielding. New on the JACK page is our latest batch of stale 2020 JOKES! From Andrew James and his site Node 16, an article with rules on Body Searches which I contributed to on the Mailing List. Don't miss this month's CheapAss CyberWare, perfect for your Budget Borg! We have some house rules from The MonSTeR's CP Games on the PUNK page. Added a Link to the new cyberpunk www.cyberpunk.co.uk Message Forum as well as a new section of links for contributors to the Project. We've made some experimental changes in site navigation... First I've added a "Frame Breaker" javascript on the splash page for people visiting the site through Karsten's site (since he refuses to let people go to my site without his frames despite repeated requests) and a Search Engine to dig around the BlackHammer Project on the main page. I'm also rebuilding the noframes version of the site to not just be a mirror image of the Frames version (but this version of it isn't complete yet, coming soon!)
Polymer Heaven would like to announce the addition of four Glocks to their distribution line at CyberGlock2020. Introducing the "Mighty Glock Twelves", the Glock 81, the Glock 82, Glock 83 and the Glock 302 MP.
C-SWAT 2020 has also been updated, with two new documents by Bryce Bezdek about Field Specialties and some new graphics!

  • September 1999 - First, a slight cosmetic change to all the primary sub-pages except the SHOP page. Actual new stuff includes an article by Denise Robinson and I, Change For The Machines details the system we use in BlackHammer Project games for Humanity Loss. It's accompanied by an article defending the basics of the Humanity Loss system (Thesis Of Change) by Denise Robinson, both are in a new section of the PUNK page dealing with Empathy and CyberPsychosis. After a discussion on Medical Services in one of the CP2020 forums, I slapped together a Medical Services article. Added The Morgue to the JACK page, a guestbook-style listing of deceased characters, please feel free to add your own lost ones... New to the Vehicles Listing off the TECH page is the Besson B-90 Aerocab from the Fifth Element, converted by Mark Plemmons. Last minute change: I've also rebuilt the Vehicles Listing to differentiate the vehicles by type. Added the BLACKHAMMER APPROVED listing off the front page, which contains a list of documents and files that are used as our house rules for BlackHammer Project game sessions (including a selection of PDF documents). Swapped the Novelties link on the SHOP and JACK pages to link to a list of novelty items, including two new "weapons", the Great Canadian Chicken Cannon and the Magnetic Frog Cannon. We've re-built the Drug Miscibility table from the Drug Production Rules page to include some other, real, effects of mixing drugs, and placed these rules and the drug overdose rules in their own file on Mixing and ODing. And lastly, some humour... you might be a gamer if...
We've added some files to the CSWAT 2020 site, first of all we have some links to articles on other sites in the theme of CSWAT. Mr Bezdek has also sent us two new files for the site, one about Rank Structure and promotions withing CSWAT, and one detailing the Training And Simulation Computer that many CSWAT units use.

  • August 1999 - First off we have The Guns Of Oz, a great full length adventure written by BlackRage. I also just churned out a whole new website entitled CSWAT 2020, detailing the CSWAT and SPAR teams of Night City. Updated the Outside Links with a new link (Get me an exit) as well as the CSWAT site and the new address for the CMPL. New to the HACK page is Pirate Chipware. New sub-page off the JACK is the BodyBank, containing the characters that had their own sub-pages as well as three new characters from Dom Fada! New to the Firearms Archive is an XL file of modern firearms by Jim Lawrie. For the PUNK page we have some nasty rules for low-luck characters...

  • July 6th - Paranoia is Your Friend article on JACK by Dextra. Moved the Corporations listing from their old home on JACK to a subsection of the GO! page. In nasty cyberware land, we have the Sidious DeadEye "cyberoptic" mount by DartBoard. New Corporation alert: Only Heavy Military, and Machine Guns of Loving Grace brings us the latest rifles from Africa. From our ScumPunks campaign, I've included notes on Officer Miniatis in case the players ever feel tough, and some new slang from DartBoard should they ever travel to europe... Finished the HTML conversions for the Flipper Is Dead CyberWare Listing and the Flipper Is Dead GunToy Catalog on the FLIP Page. All this new cyberware made me rebuild my BlackHammer Project Approved Cyberware Listing which contains cyberware from all the supplements, some from the FID listings, some from other games and some from my own twisted imaginings that never made it into print before.... all for a mere 179k file. From UPCC we have a selection of Hunter Biomedical Drugs created using our drug creation rules. This update coded to Einsturzende Neubauten remixes & Malhavoc's new single.

  • June 5th - First thing is a slight rebuild of the front page to include a "Coming Attractions" page where I'll be keeping you up-to-date with the stuff I'm working on for the site (with thanks to DartBoard for the idea). Rebuilt the Vehicles Page off the SHOP page, giving each vehicle it's own subpage. And needless to say, I did this because I've added a few new vehicles to the site, the Gram HoverTank, the Ariante Pilgrim, the Noble Executioner, the Lada Luxury 6, Houston Hauler, and the Honda Lettra. For the gun-nuts, I've added one or more shotguns to each of the Mutant Chronicles sub-pages (with a new pic on the front page of that article set), in the Firearms Archive. From australia we just got the Mister HaHa catalogue, filed under the Humour header, and a new tech is being introduced as a part of our current campaign, Real-Time Personal Archetype Simulations, under the ScumPunk 2020 campaign notes, both on the JACK page. I've also updated the Real World Drug Project with an additional 7 drugs, and did some more work on my Benefits and Penalties listings, adding a bunch of listings to the various Penalties pages. I've finally included my sample character created using the Animal Hybrid Clones rules, Donovan XF4. I got bored at work the other day and wrote up a "future history" of a combat drug, Psycho, which contains not only the history, but rules for various incarnations and variants of Psycho. On the subject of drugs, the DRUG TV article has expanded with another drug from the minds of Dopeman X and Sooch. Dartboard brings us his new way of handling Humanity Loss, with Borgasm, he also sent along an NPC from an adventure he ran which I've also used as a springboard into an entire campaign, in Project : Gestalt. From my archive of FID materials, I've done a rough HTML-izing of the CyberWare Catalog. This update coded to Front 242's Headhunter 2000, Velvet Acid Christ's Decypher and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

  • May 1st - Well, that was long enough without any new guns, right? So now I bring you my own take on the Shadowrun Conversions. So far it includes Handguns, SubGuns, Rifles, Heavy Weapons, Body Armor and CyberTech from the Street Samurai Catalog (first edition) and main rulebook (also first edition) with illustrations. And you thought the BlackHammer Shadowrun Project was just an April Fool's joke! As another bonus, I've got my view of the Desert Eagles on the Handguns page, and Machine Guns of Loving Grace have just received a huge shipment of Ronins and Ronin Variants. From my ancient text files of cyberpunk works past, I've HTML-ized my (now fully illustrated) Heckler & Koch SMGs article, and finished off the complementing article on Heckler & Koch Rifles. That's some 80 "new" guns for the month. I'm sure you've noticed a few major changes on your way in here. I've added a frames/noframes option (although the site is still optimized for frames viewing, at least now ya got the option), ditched the old Affiliations page and replaced it with a history of the web site. The KILL, PUNK, and JACK pages have been rearranged by the Houndwife101 in an effort to make them easier to navigate. And you may have noticed the new top bar. I've taken articles from the JACK page and made two new subsections for them as HACK (for net stuff) and GO! (new locations and game environments), thus trying to bring JACK back to being about Flavour. We've also dragged all the Flipper Is Dead articles to their own page, FLIP. To celebrate the new sections I've added The Pickle Bar to the GO! page, DartBoard's Softz on the HACK page, and the FID MicroMissile Rules to the FLIP-page. I fixed up some of the Biotech entries to make them a little more balanced for play. After reviewing certain articles, I've moved the Gambling article to the PUNK page. Can you say, "Armour Not Applicable!": howsabout some new articles on Grenades and Explosives rules? The Luck Deck has been slightly revised with the addition of the "It's Too Much" cards. The Credits & Playtesting Pages have a new paragraph about playtesters and contributing, as well adding a few credits (better late than never). Threw in an update (the FlexSword) to the Memory Plastics article. Mostly for my players' convenience, I've also included a copy of the official Proportional Armor Table from R.Tal inside the Chrome 4 Armor article. This update coded to the sounds of my wife playing DUNE2000 and the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack and Scorn.

  • April 1st - "Read my lips, no new firearms!" But still one HECK of an update this month. Noticed some submissions from Dartboard that I had missed before. First off we have alternate rules for Humanity Loss, Psychology and CyberPsychology entitled Ego Boost on the PUNK page. Also from DartBoard we have a new version of the ever popular Murphy's Rules of Combat / Combat Bible on the JACK page. After an evening discussion about hit location tables with Night Flyer (our man in Tulsa) and D-Roc (our man in Arkansas), I've listed all the different hit location rules I've used over the years on the KILL page. I've added my version of the RoboHounds article from Interface 1.1 as well as a copy of the original article for those interested, both added the the Autonomous Units section of the SHOP page. Updated the credits page, including both our two latest playtest campaign groups and one campaign I had forgotten way back in 1993 (thanks to Luc Laundriault for reminding me). I've finally started on re-building my merits and flaws lists, and although it's not complete, you can still find the original list as the master list at the bottom of that page. I've also taken it upon myself to chronicle the ScumPunk 2020 campaign I am currently running (on the JACK page). A couple of years ago (okay, 4 years ago) I bought the Tank Girl RPG from West End Games. And now I've finally finished my Tank Girl conversions! When I first put this site on-line I made mention in the Lifepath charts of a Prison LifePath Table. Well, I finally converted it to html, along with our current Melee Weapons Listing featuring about two dozen new melee weapons, and an article of mine on 2021 Memory Plastics (both on the SHOP page). This update coded to Cubanate, FatBoy Slim, and the Quake soundtrack.

  • March 2nd - With last month's CyberHumour2020, I've received several new CP2020 jokes in email, so I've started a new section for submitted humour, CyberHumour2021. New Links to CP2020 Mailing Lists and the r.g.f.c. newsgroup as well as two message forums and all the current CyberPunk 2020 Webrings, and am working on a revised list of CyberFiction worth reading (with links to amazon.com). We've completed the first step on the Real World Drug Project from the DRUGS page. Another new gun has snuck onto the SMGs page. Fixed broken tables for Rethe Version 2 and the Flipper AmmoList (boy do I suck). This update coded to various KMFDM (r.i.p) and Front 242's Angels vs Animals.

  • February 4th - a few new submissions including a detailed skill for use in hacking Orbital Weapons Platforms and several additions to the Police State 2020 game setting (three entire new "expansion sets" if you will) and a page dedicated to the adventures of a band named Apocalypse. I've added a new map (a Hindu Flesh Mechanic's) to the Night City Sites page. As a companion to the Clone Jokes from last year, I've added a page for other CyberPunk 2020 humour. And for you 500 people a week who only come here for the gun listings, a hot new Glock Handgun, Steyr & Manex SMGs and SIG SWAT AR for 2022! Other little changes include the "under dead television skies" graphic on the front page that I introduced sometime in the past two months but didn't remember to mention, an attempt to make the pages look the same under Netscrape as they do under Infernal Exploder (well, actually vice-versa), and observant visitors may also have noted that I now list what two bands I was listening to most during the coding of the items appearing in the update at the end of each update. This update coded to Nine Inch Nails, Scooter & Skinny Puppy

  • January 6th - Fun with email lists! We've also added an update list for this very site that will notify you of updates (by sending you the first paragraph of updates off this page) to the BlackHammer CyberPunk Project so you don't have to keep logging in to see if anything is new! We've also cleaned up the Front Page for faster loading, adding a new Links Page for outside links instead of the suggested readings as well as a seperate Legal Notice page with some awesome fine print. For the best in evisceration for fun and profit, check out the MonoSpider Remote Assassin Unit, and Richard Harris has volunteered some hot new Cyber-Optical Options on the SHOP page! I've also applied to a PBEM game and since I put so much work into the character I thought I might as well post him, so please meet Réthe v2.0. Added a new Role as well (the courier). This update coded to Society Burning & Pigface
